The evolution of hearing aids is incredible. Today’s hearing aids are smaller and much more sophisticated than they were even 5 years ago. Digital hearing aids have the ability to provide clarity without unnecessary volume, automatically detect and reduce background noise and identify feedback (whistling or squealing from the hearing aid) and suppress it.
There are many different hearing aid sizes, styles and levels of technology available today. Finding which hearing aid is right for you involves a discussion of your hearing loss and your lifestyle.
The small open-ear style of hearing aid is appropriate for people with mild to moderately-severe hearing loss. It is a great option for people who have some areas of normal hearing and some hearing loss. They are lightweight, discreet and available in all levels of technology.
Standard behind-the-ear (BTE) style aids are good for more significant hearing loss or people who may have trouble handling smaller hearing aids or batteries. Compared to BTE’s of the past, today’s BTE’s are smaller and more cosmetically appealing.
Custom hearing aids range from full in-the-ear styles to nearly invisible completely-in-the-canal aids. These styles work well for a wide range of hearing losses and lifestyle needs.
At Wright Audiology and Hearing Aids we’ll work with you to find the hearing aids that fit your hearing loss, lifestyle and budget. We know that adapting to hearing aids is a process. That is why all of our hearing aids are fit on a 30-day trial and adjustment period. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the hearing aids, you have the option to return them.
